We are looking for a Sr Java Engineer to help design and enhance the services behind a customer-facing Consumer Insights platform in San Francisco, California. This long-term contract position focuses on building reliable backend systems, delivering new features, and improving application performance in a fast-moving engineering environment. The role offers the opportunity to work with large-scale data, contribute to API and business logic development, and partner closely with teammates to maintain high technical standards.Responsibilities:• Design, build, and maintain scalable backend applications and foundational platform services that support a consumer insights product.• Deliver new backend capabilities and software enhancements, with a primary emphasis on feature development and service improvement.• Create and tune SQL queries for large datasets, including work with data housed in Snowflake.• Participate in peer code reviews and help strengthen engineering best practices, code quality, and maintainability.• Investigate defects, resolve production and application issues, and improve overall system reliability.• Share clear updates on progress, risks, and technical blockers to keep stakeholders and team members aligned.• Take increasing ownership of more complex initiatives after onboarding through smaller fixes and incremental improvements.
